madmax X hair recycling collection This vintage brown vest was once a sweater back in the 1980s. Later, it sat quietly and somewhat sadly in the Jajcica shop, waiting for something to happen. It waited a long time—until suddenly, a whirlwind of new experiences came its way: it featured in 30Y’s short films Éhezők jóllakottak and miez?. Eventually, some threads ran irreparably, and with a heavy heart, I permitted to deconstruct it: I cut off the sleeves, which were then sewn into Zoli Beck’s corduroy blazer. And just like that, a sweater became a vest.
And since we’re talking about Pécs: to mend, conceal, and highlight its flaws, I appliquéd pieces from an experimental T-shirt onto the vest—where I had practiced hand-painting Zsolnay patterns and experimenting with iridescent heat-press foil. The whole composition was finished with golden hand embroidery, painting, and vintage buttons.
I hope this lovely garment soon finds its person—someone who will love it forward and add even more memories to its story.
